It was the last day in Toronto today, so we went to visit some not-so-common tourist destinations. I get around in the city using public transport, which gives you a much better impression of the everyday life in a city. It is quite noticeable that Toronto is one of the cities with the highest standards of living in the world.
The first stop was the AGO art gallery – which has a nice variety of different artists and exhibits, including Andy Warhol who even made a couple portraits of Mao.
…And more street life of Toronto, on the way to the next stop:
A destination that most people don’t know (and that isn’t very large) is the Toronto’s first post office. The post office is still in the original style of the time, and you can look at some of the things related to the early Canadian post service and it’s operations. You can even write a short note with ink and a feather.
Then, to sum up our visit of Toronto, we decided to take the ferry to the other side of the port to briefly visit one of the Toronto Islands – and have a perfect view of the city’s skyline.
