And so, my almost three-month stay in Morocco came to an end. I decided that instead of packing, it would be a much better idea to visit Rabat’s Tour Hassan – you know, the mosque that was never completed – once more.<\/p>\n

In the evening I decided it may be a good idea to pack, as we were leaving for Casablanca International Airport the next day.<\/p>\n

And so the time in Morocco came to an end. Morocco was an incredible experience – a Kingdom with such a long, moving and diverse history, that had brought to the world great scientists and thinkers, a country filled with amazing architecture, people and colors, green countrysides and a bit of desert (though I never happened to see any of it). However, today Morocco remains a Kingdom with little democracy and an at times questionable human rights record.<\/p>\n

From plainclothes police officers trying to keep me away from a demonstration all the way to the hospitality of locals living around Chefchaouen in the far north of the country, I had a wide variety of different experiences in Morocco.
